We've created a new learning space in our school!
What was for years the computer lab, is now a Makerspace!

What is a Makerspace?
A makerspace is a collaborative workspace for making, learning, exploring and sharing that features tools and materials that inspire creativity. From simple building materials like cardboard to high tech devices like 3D printers, makerspaces can foster a “maker mindset” and the exploration of individual interests. These spaces also help build critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). They provide hands-on learning, help with critical thinking skills and even boost self-confidence. (Source: https://www.makerspaces.com/what-is-a-makerspace/)
What we're working with...
Each year we receive grants from SD61’s Pathways & Partnerships to purchase items to facilitate student building, creativity, and imaginative exploration in our school.
The Tool Trolley
A recent addition to the collection is the Tool Trolley provided by Pathways & Partnerships. Several of our Rogers staff have completed training on the use of the tools and have engaged students in some basic carpentry projects.
