Hey Rogers students! Want to play a fun, skill testing game and possibly win a prize? Well, pictured above is the bulletin board next to the Rogers library desk. On the library desk you'll find a draw box with slips like the one pictured here with Pete the Cat on it. You can enter one of these slips for every pair (there are 34 of them in total) of front & back covers you can find. Use the letters, numbers, and symbols to identify the pairs you locate (for example: "Cover A matches back cover 11"), include your name and division, and pop your answers into the draw box. Towards the end of January, Mr. Richey will draw a few lucky winners from those who have correctly matched front and back covers from the board. Look carefully, good luck, and have fun!
Strawberry Vale students, stay tuned! Your Cover to Cover game is on its way!
What's else is going on?
Meet Your School Librarian...
I am Mr. Richey, your Teacher-Librarian. I am the guy who organizes your school library, teaches you how to use it, and shares great stories with you each week. It's my job to make sure our library is easy to use and has books in it that you want to read. But books aren't the only places to look for interesting ideas and not the only way to fuel your imagination.
The job of a librarian is to connect you with resources that will help you learn and grow. We are surrounded by all kinds of resources. We look to each other, local experts, and the natural world around us for information and inspiration just as we look online and on the shelves.
Learning something new is a special event. When stories, information, and experiences inspire you and change the way you think about the world, you may begin to think about how you might inspire others and help change the world too.
As your Teacher-Librarian, it's my job to help connect you with ideas and information that capture your imagination and inspire you. So let me know what you're curious about, what excites you, and what it is that makes you want to learn more!
