The Two Room Schoolhouse
1913-1951

PictureOct 1920 Div 1-3
  • The second Strawberry Vale school was built next to the first one and both schools were used.
  • The two room building had a principal's office and a staff room in the middle with a classroom on either side.
  • There was a furnace in the basement. This was also where the kids went to run around when it was too rainy to go outside.
  • Unlike the first school, this one had real desks, with fold down seats.

  • In 1923, the school building served as the meeting place for the "Little Mother's League", a organization that taught young girls how to care for children.
