Making History

Picture
As a follow up to the School History Walks at Rogers and the Mural Project at Strawberry Vale in 2017-2018, Mr. Richey worked with students over the 2018-2019 school year to identify the things about their school that matter most to them. Last Fall, students brainstormed ideas and created self-portraits and enjoyed a visit from local storyteller, Robert "Lucky" Budd, who spoke about his work and the value of sharing our stories as a way of recording history

Last Winter, students shared their school experiences through photography, art, and poetry...all in an effort to add to our schools' incredible histories!

These documents were brought together in the form of a big book featuring full page spreads of each student.
Learn more about your school’s history at at Rogers and Strawberry Vale schools and come to the library to check out the book we've created: This Place: Our School Story! The story continues this year as we explore new ways of sharing our stories and making history at our school.
